founder of the Zoo
Submitted by john on Sun, 2009-08-09 11:54.so..a few weeks ago I was at the Philadelphia Zoo and while leaving saw the name William Camac on a sign. I said to the person I was with, that the name was the same as someone buried in my burial ground. So when I was at the Christ Church Burial Ground which I am in charge of, I looked at the dates on Camac's gravestone and the timeline seemed right. I found in our burial records that Dr. William Camac was buried in the Lawrence vault on April 7th, 1900.
